Southern Athletics is a 22,000 square foot fully air-conditioned multi-sport athletic facility providing programs in: Acrobatic Tumbling, Youth Developmental Gymnastics, Cheerleading Classes, Cheerleading Competition teams, Short-stay Day care (Southern Prep), Birthday Parties, Personal Fitness Training Studio (Body Design) and more.
Programs of Instruction
Southern Athletics, Inc (SCA) has been training athletes from all over Atlanta since 1994. SCA’s program provides a complete curriculum of instruction for all ages and levels of ability. Our classes start at 4 years old and continue on working with the college level athletes! Our program includes instruction in gymnastic tumbling, jumps, motion technique, and also stunts and pyramids for cheerleading.
Brief History
SCA began subleasing out of a gymnastics company in Sandy Springs in 1994 Soon after, we had our first building in Alpharetta and we were conducting our own classes daily. In 1998 SCA moved to Marietta and began its operation. After over a decade in the business, with blessed support by the community, SCA built its own 22,000 square foot state-of-the art facility. We have built our program in reaching far beyond acrobatics and trophies but also in the building of fine character, self esteem, work ethic, and discipline in everyone we teach.

SCA is located in Marietta, GA approximately 1/4 mi. from the intersection of Canton Rd. and Sandy Plains Rd. From I-75 take exit 267A and proceed to the first traffic light and turn right onto Sandy Plains Rd. Go to second traffic light-West Oak Parkway and turn Right. Southern Athletics New Programs for 2008
Southern Athletics’ new facility has incorporated a short stay day care enrichment program starting at ages 9 months and up to 7 years old. For our parents and adults, we will be offering personal fitness training, pilates, adult step aerobics and Yoga classes! These classes will be offered during our evening sessions so that parents may take advantage of these while waiting for their children to finish classes.
For our younger students, SCA has preschool classes starting at 6 months with mom and tot classes being offered each morning at 9, 10 and 11am.
The SouthEastern Cheerleading Championship (www.secchampionships.com)
Each year, SCA hosts its own cheerleading competition at the North GA Trade Center in Dalton, GA. Last year was the SEC’s th year in existence and over 5,000 cheerleaders and spectators watched our exiting competition! Please visit our sec championships.com web site for more information.
SCA Summer Camps
SCA travels around the Southeast to host private and overnight cheerleading camps. SCA’s camp program has been in existence since 1996. Instruction ages range from recreation leagues of 5 year olds - Kindergarten to college camps. www.scacamps.com
